Running a pilot

Test AI product imagery on your catalogue. Six steps, two weeks, a case your team can't ignore.

A pilot is the fastest way to build evidence for FurnitureConnect. Here's how to run one.

1

Pick your products

Choose a range that carries weight in the business and feels imaging friction most. Good signals:

  • Products that have been waiting weeks for lifestyle imagery
  • Ranges where you currently rely on white-background cutouts or CAD renders
  • New arrivals that need to go live on multiple channels quickly
  • Products where a studio shoot has been quoted but not yet booked

10–30 products is ideal. Large enough to test batch processing and PIM workflows. Small enough to finish in two weeks.

2

Measure your baseline

Before your team touches FurnitureConnect, capture the current state. This gives you a baseline and surfaces the pain points the pilot needs to address.

Key metrics to capture

Time to market

How many days from product-ready to live listing with lifestyle imagery?

Cost per image

What does a single styled lifestyle image cost through your current process?

Image consistency

Are your product images visually consistent across channels?

Team satisfaction

How do your ecommerce / marketing team rate the current imaging process (1-5)?

Conversion rate

What is the current conversion rate for listings with lifestyle imagery vs without?

Backlog

How many products are currently live without lifestyle imagery?

3

Set up FurnitureConnect

Sign up for an account, or request a demo and we'll set everything up with you.

Upload your product images to the AI Studio to start generating lifestyle imagery. Use the PIM to import your product catalogue — ZIP files, folder structures, or CSV data. Any work you do here carries over to full production, so nothing is wasted.

If you need help with setup, our team is hands-on. Customers consistently mention how responsive our support is — NOIR called it “extraordinarily fast.”

4

Run the pilot

Give your team two to four weeks. Use FurnitureConnect as the primary imaging tool for the pilot products — don't split between tools.

Key workflows to test during the pilot:

  • Single image generation — Upload a product photo, generate a styled room scene, compare quality to your current imagery
  • Batch processing — Upload an entire collection and generate images at scale
  • Product highlights & carousels — Generate annotated feature callouts and multi-image carousel sets
  • PIM workflows— Import product data, attach AI-generated images, export ready-to-publish listings
  • Background removal & upscaling — Clean up existing images to 4K quality
5

Measure the results

Revisit your baseline from step 2. Compare side by side: time to market, cost per image, team satisfaction, image quality.

Present your case

Decision-makers don't sift through anecdotes. Pull four or five quantitative comparisons between your baseline and pilot results. Put them side by side. Pair each metric with a before/after image.
